Steve Bucciarelli of Predator Bird Services introduces local raptors and explains their importance in the food chain. Accompanied by a live bird, he will share his experiences using raptors to scare off nuisance species, including geese, pigeons, starlings and gulls. Where: 900 King Street, (Western Fair Market - Confederation Building) upper level

Dave Cook of the Fire Roasted Coffee Co. and Jeff Pastorius of On the Move Organics will be headed to the backroads of El Salvador and Guatemala this month to forge partnerships with producers from local Fair Trade co-operatives. Cook, who deals in premium international coffees, said it is another way to give consumers a more direct link to their food. "This will allow us to focus on a single plantation and to create change... ”It's pretty special when I can show a picture or a video of the person who grew our coffee," he said.
