TREA monthly meeting

Thames Region Ecological Association has for the past 22 years been a voice in London for sustainable development and redevelopment that minimizes use of fossil fuels, and maximizes sustainable neighbourhoods and high quality of life. We support Vision London: “committed to the health and well-being of all Londoners and our actions are socially, environmentally and fiscally responsible so that quality of life is enhanced and sustained for future generations…”

National Leaders Debate.
Come watch Elizabeth May take on the boys on the big screen at London's Green Party campaign headquarters. Candidates for London West, Monica Jarabek and London North Centre, Mary Ann Hodge will be present to answer questions and share the occasion. Doors open at 8:00. Debate starts at 9:00. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Speaker: O zone Organics is a new trend in healthy eating, founded by 3 London based entrepreneurs (Dr. Scott Kay, Walt Spivak and Ron deLanghe). The menu at the casual quick serve restaurant offers up certified organic burgers, sweet potato fries, salads & wraps, rotisserie chicken, beverages and desserts served in either biodegradable packaging made of cornstarch and sugar cane for take-out or reusable baskets for dine in. The business is being taken to market to franchise and will give people the opportunity to own a sustainable business that is concerned with animal welfare, the health of the customer as well as the health of the environment.

A joint presentation of Carolinian Canada Coalition and Ontario Land Trust Alliance.Local host: Thames Talbot Land Trust Come and join us for three days of field trips, seminars and workshops. With over 20 seminars, workshops and field trips there is something for everyone!
This conference will attract landowners, volunteers and staff representing land trusts, conservation authorities, environmental NGO’s, government agencies and industry experts. The ripple from the conference will be felt by the thousands of volunteers involved in land conservation in Ontario.

Minister of Natural Resource Donna Cansfield will deliver the welcome address and Dr. John Howard’s keynote address “Ecosystem Health - Balancing Health Care with Land Care” will open the three day conference.

Field trip to Meadowlily Nature Preserve by our local land trust partner Thames Talbot Land Trust.

STUDENTS ON ICE FUNDRAISER Dinner
at Aroma Mediterranean Restaurant to help send Dan Hammond to Antarctica. Guests will be catered to by one of London’s finest cuisines as they relax and enjoy Daniel’s presentation of the Expedition in Aroma’s unique indoor courtyard environment over an exquisite dinner.
