Hello Tiffany,
It was a pleasure to speak with you about SLOME (Skills London Oxford Middlesex Elgin) Career Exploration Day. SLOME is a not for profit project of the Elgin, Middlesex Oxford Local Training Board, which partners youth, education and business.
We had talked about sharing information through your network about this opportunity for organizations to get involved in promoting green careers and green living.
How can they participate? They can exhibit, sponsor or create a green construction challenge with recycled materials. I was thinking about all the Tim Horton Trays out there.
3,300 youth attended last year from London, Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford counties. This year we are expecting 4,000 youth including students from Huron Perth.
SLOME is in it’s 9th year , and is one of the most unique and valuable career exploration days in the province for students grades 5 – 12.
What makes SLOME unique is participants promote their career fields through a hands on interactive exhibits. You will find attached participants from last year, including the environment field. I have also attached the registration form.
All forms, details on who attended last year, video of the day are available at http://www.slome.org/ .
Please contact me with any questions about this exciting career exploration day.
I look forward to discussing this further with you.
Sincerely,
Kathryn Tull
