Hi Tiffany, Could you please post the following notice for your Green Drinks members. Let's support responsible, smart development. Teresa
"For those of you who disagree that cookie-cutter sprawl, BIG BOX stores, expensive unsustainable infrastructure, and growth with no imagination are our only options please attend the following very important Council Meeting at City Hall on Monday July 30 - beginning at 2pm."
On July 30th, the Public is invited to attend and participate in discussions around the Growth Boundary. City Staff has determined there is adequate land and no additional land is needed. See Official Plan Review and Land Needs on http://www.london.ca/. Many developers and (possibly half) of the councillors disagree, stating that if we do not add additional lands we will stifle growth and employment. This is a lie....as further creative, smart growth will occur within the present city boundaries. If the boundary is extended...run-away sprawl will continue. Please empower our city council to do what is in the best interest of individual citizens not developers. Let's fill the gallery.....so that we begin to see responsible, smart city planning.
Create a sign with your "voice" message. Examples: Smart Growth is not Anti-Development, Responsible Growth does not mean a loss of jobs. Say "No" to the expansion of urban boundaries. Grow up Not Out. Vibrant City not Ugly Sprawl, We want diversity - in small businesses. Take back the city from Developers. We want our city back. Use your imagination....
